The Garden in the Woods is a place where my grandpa spent time with his family growing vegetables and enjoying time together. My father back then was the “compost maker” – which I have subconsciouly taken on, despite back then, I was not interested in compost making. But it is really my passion – I have experimented and still experiment and use what I can find to improve the composts.
I am strongly influenced by biodynamic farming which speaks of the farm as a self sustaining organism. Everything you need to need, needs to come from the farm. So – being in the woods and having no cow or other manur producing animal – I make my compost with leaves. Creating my first leave compost with biodynamic preparation with some special addition, godsmaked me. I have literally never seen so crumble and sweet smelling compost made – not it comes, from pine needs and oak leaves. Impossible some would say – so follow for me.
I use paramagntism, cupper technolgy, biodynamics, Mary Bruce compost preparations and more to fine time and increase vitality in the plants.
I had a wonderful spruce tree forest, around 500qm, which I had to cut down, because the neighbour was scared the trees would fall onto his hut. The tree surgeon said he never saw so vital spruce trees. I regularily used biodynamic compost preparations and keep the bark beetle out of the forest. After all was cut down I rediscovered my early childhood passion – growing trees. As a 10 year old I was having small plantage of trees on the same area. So I am grateful that moving the trees uncovered my old passion. But having learnt a bit, I know want to grow as vital trees as possible. A hobby.
I will focus on fruit bushes. I dont know, I just love them. I will only grow trees and bushes I love.
